Creating a Project from a Template

If your admin has set up project templates, you can use them to pre-populate tasks and activities:

  1. Click + New Project.
  2. Select Use Template and choose from the available templates.
  3. Customize the project title, dates, and assignees.
  4. Click Save — the project will be created with all template tasks and activities pre-populated.

See Project Templates for more information.

Cloning an Existing Project

To duplicate a project with similar structure:

  1. Open the project you want to copy.
  2. Click the Clone option from the project's actions menu.
  3. Update the title, dates, and assignees for the new project.
  4. Click Save.

Cloning copies the project's tasks and structure but not its history or completed activities.

Creating a Project from a Deal

When a deal is won and you need to set up the delivery project:

  1. Open the Deal profile.
  2. Find the Projects section.
  3. Click Link Project and select Create New Project.
  4. Fill in the project details.
  5. Save — the project will be automatically linked to the deal.

Tips for Good Project Records

  • Set a clear title — Include the client name and what's being delivered.
  • Always set start and end dates — This enables timeline tracking.
  • Assign team members upfront — Ensure the right people have visibility from the start.
  • Use a template — If similar projects recur, ask your admin to create a template to standardize your process.
  • Link to the deal — Connecting the project to its originating deal gives you a complete client view.
