Quick Tips When Creating Leads

  • Be descriptive in the title — Include the company name and what the opportunity is about. This makes it easier to scan lists quickly.
  • Always assign a source channel — Tracking where leads come from helps you understand which channels perform best.
  • Set an expected close date — Even a rough estimate helps with pipeline forecasting.
  • Link to a person or organization — This connects the lead to your contact database for a full picture.
  • Assign an owner immediately — Unassigned leads can fall through the cracks.

Leads Created Automatically

Leads can also be created automatically via:

  • Workflows — Set up an automation that creates a lead when a form is submitted, an email is received, or another trigger fires. See Workflows and Automation.
  • Import — Bulk-import leads from a CSV file.
