Manual time entry lets you log time worked after the fact — useful when you forgot to start the timer or need to add time for past work.

Navigate to: Timesheets

Creating a Manual Timesheet Entry

  1. Go to Timesheets.
  2. Click + New Entry (or Add).
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Start Time — When you started working (date and time)
    • End Time — When you finished (date and time)
    • Duration — Auto-calculated from start and end times, or enter it manually
    • Description — What you worked on
    • Associated With — Link to an activity or task
    • Is Billable — Check if this time is billable to a client
    • Hourly Rate — Rate for this entry
  4. Click Save.

Note: You cannot log time for a future date — start times must be in the past.

Editing a Timesheet Entry

  1. Find the entry in the Timesheets list.
  2. Click on it to open the detail view.
  3. Click Edit and make your changes.
  4. Click Save.

You may not be able to edit entries that have been submitted for approval or already approved. Contact your manager if you need to adjust an approved entry.

Deleting a Timesheet Entry

  1. Open the entry.
  2. Click Delete and confirm.

Deleted entries can be restored by an administrator from Settings > Restore.

Splitting a Timesheet Entry

If a single time entry covers multiple tasks or clients, you can split it:

  1. Open the timesheet entry.
  2. Look for the Split option.
  3. Define how to divide the time (by duration, percentage, or specific times).
  4. Save the split entries.

Each split entry can have its own description, billing flag, and rate.

Viewing Your Timesheets

The Timesheets list shows all your entries with:

  • Date and time
  • Duration
  • Description
  • Billable status and amount
  • Approval status

Use the date filter to view entries for a specific week, month, or custom range.

Timezone Considerations

Time entries are recorded in your local timezone (as set in your profile). If you work across timezones, make sure your profile timezone is correct to avoid discrepancies. Go to Settings > Profile to update your timezone.

Tips for Accurate Manual Entries

  • Log time the same day — It is much easier to recall accurately what you worked on if you log it the same day.
  • Be specific in descriptions — "Client call re: Q3 renewal" is better than "Call". This helps during billing reviews.
  • Check billable status — Double-check whether each entry should be billable before submitting for approval.

Manual Entry Not Available?

If you don't see the option to add a manual entry:

  • Your administrator may have disabled manual entry.
  • Contact your admin to enable it in Settings > Company Preferences > Timesheet Settings.
