Composing and Sending Emails

•Apr 10, 2026SalesKey lets you compose and send emails directly from the Inbox. Emails sent from SalesKey appear in your connected email provider's Sent folder and are tracked in SalesKey for CRM linking.
Navigate to: Inbox > Compose
Composing a New Email
- Click the Compose button (pencil/write icon) in the Inbox.
- A compose window will open. Fill in:
- To — Recipient email address(es). You can add multiple recipients.
- CC — Copy additional recipients (optional)
- BCC — Blind copy recipients (optional)
- Subject — Email subject line
- Body — Your email message
- Click Send to send the email.
Formatting the Email Body
The compose editor supports basic rich text formatting:
- Bold, italic, underline
- Bullet lists and numbered lists
- Links
Adding Attachments
- In the compose window, click the Attach button (paperclip icon).
- Select file(s) from your device.
- The file will appear in the compose window before sending.
File size limits may apply depending on your subscription plan.
Saving a Draft
If you are not ready to send:
- Click Save Draft or simply close the compose window.
- The email will be saved in your Drafts folder.
- To resume, go to the Drafts folder and click on the draft email.
SalesKey also auto-saves your draft periodically while you are composing.
Replying to an Email
- Open the email thread you want to reply to.
- Click Reply at the bottom of the email.
- Type your reply in the text area.
- Click Send.
Replying to All
- Open the email thread.
- Click Reply All to include all original recipients in your reply.
- Type your message and click Send.
Forwarding an Email
- Open the email.
- Click Forward.
- Enter the recipient's email address in the To field.
- Add any additional message above the forwarded content.
- Click Send.
Tips for Professional Email Communication
- Always add a subject line — Emails without subjects look unprofessional and may be filtered as spam.
- Link to a CRM record after sending — See Linking Emails to CRM Records to connect the email to a deal or contact.
- Use BCC carefully — Only use BCC when you need to share a copy without the recipient knowing.
- Proofread before sending — Use the preview to check formatting before hitting send.
Troubleshooting
My email failed to send.
- Check your internet connection.
- Verify your email account is still connected in Settings.
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting your email account.
The email was sent but I cannot find it in Sent.
- Give the inbox a moment to sync.
- Click the Refresh button to trigger a manual sync.
