Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your SalesKey account. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot access your account without also having your authentication device.
Enabling 2FA
- Go to Settings > Two-Factor Authentication.
- Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
- Open your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator) on your phone.
- Scan the QR code displayed on screen, or manually enter the setup key.
- Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app to confirm the setup.
- Click Confirm to activate 2FA.
Save your recovery codes! After enabling 2FA, SalesKey will show you a set of recovery codes. Store these in a safe place. You can use them to access your account if you lose your authenticator device.
Logging In with 2FA
- Enter your email and password on the login page as usual.
- You will be redirected to the two-factor challenge page.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
- Click Verify to complete sign-in.
Using Recovery Codes
If you lose access to your authenticator app:
- On the two-factor challenge page, click Use a recovery code.
- Enter one of your saved recovery codes.
- Click Verify.
Each recovery code can only be used once. Once used, it is no longer valid.
Regenerating Recovery Codes
If you have used all your recovery codes or suspect they have been compromised:
- Go to Settings > Two-Factor Authentication.
- Click Regenerate Recovery Codes.
- Save the new codes in a secure location.
Regenerating codes invalidates all previous recovery codes.
Disabling 2FA
- Go to Settings > Two-Factor Authentication.
- Click Disable Two-Factor Authentication.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Disabling 2FA reduces the security of your account. It is recommended to keep 2FA enabled.
Troubleshooting
My code is not working.
- Make sure your device's time is accurate. Authenticator apps are time-sensitive.
- Check that you are entering the code for the correct account in your app.
- Codes refresh every 30 seconds — try waiting for a new code.
I lost access to my authenticator app.
- Use one of your saved recovery codes to log in.
- If you have no recovery codes left, contact your administrator for assistance.
My recovery codes are not working.
- Recovery codes are single-use. If a code has already been used, it will not work again.
- Regenerate new codes after logging in.
