What Are Deals?

Deals
Apr 10, 2026

A Deal in SalesKey is an active sales opportunity that your team is working to close. Unlike leads (which are early-stage and unqualified), deals represent real, qualified opportunities that are moving through your sales pipeline.

The Deal Pipeline

Every deal belongs to a Pipeline — a defined sequence of stages that reflects your sales process. As you work a deal, you move it from stage to stage until it is either Won or Lost.

A typical pipeline might look like:

Prospecting → Proposal Sent → Negotiation → Contract Review → Closed Won

Your administrator configures pipelines and their stages. You may have multiple pipelines (e.g., one for new business, one for renewals, one for upsells).

Deal Pipeline View vs. Table View

  • Table View — Spreadsheet-style list of all deals, sortable and filterable. Good for bulk management.
  • Pipeline View — Kanban-style board organized by stage. Good for visualizing where deals are in the process and dragging them between stages.
