•Apr 10, 2026A Deal in SalesKey is an active sales opportunity that your team is working to close. Unlike leads (which are early-stage and unqualified), deals represent real, qualified opportunities that are moving through your sales pipeline.
The Deal Pipeline
Every deal belongs to a Pipeline — a defined sequence of stages that reflects your sales process. As you work a deal, you move it from stage to stage until it is either Won or Lost.
A typical pipeline might look like:
Prospecting → Proposal Sent → Negotiation → Contract Review → Closed Won
Your administrator configures pipelines and their stages. You may have multiple pipelines (e.g., one for new business, one for renewals, one for upsells).
What Information Does a Deal Contain?

| Activities | All calls, meetings, emails, tasks related to the deal |

| Emails | Email threads linked to this deal |

| Change Log | Full history of all changes |
Deal Pipeline View vs. Table View
- Table View — Spreadsheet-style list of all deals, sortable and filterable. Good for bulk management.
- Pipeline View — Kanban-style board organized by stage. Good for visualizing where deals are in the process and dragging them between stages.
