Editing a Deal

Option 1 — Inline editing (Table View): Click directly on a field in the table to edit it.

Option 2 — Deal detail view: Click on the deal title to open its profile. Click any field to edit, or click the Edit button.

Option 3 — Pipeline board: Drag the deal card to change its stage. Open the card to edit other details.


Linking Activities to a Deal

Keeping your deal history current helps with follow-ups and reporting:

  1. Open the deal's profile.
  2. Go to the Activities tab.
  3. Click + Add Activity and choose the type (Call, Meeting, Email, Task, Note).
  4. Fill in the details and click Save.

All team members assigned to the deal can see the activity history.


Linking Emails to a Deal

  1. Open the deal's profile.
  2. Go to the Emails tab.
  3. Click Link Email and search for the email in your Inbox.
  4. Select the email to attach it to this deal.

Alternatively, you can link deals directly from the Inbox view. See Using the Inbox.


Linking a Deal to a Project

When a deal involves delivering work or a project:

  1. Open the deal's profile.
  2. Find the Projects section.
  3. Click Link Project to associate an existing project, or create a new project from here.

Adding Multiple Contacts to a Deal

A deal can be linked to multiple people and organizations:

  1. Open the deal's profile.
  2. In the People or Organizations section, click + Add to link additional contacts.

Adding Notes

  1. Open the deal.
  2. Go to the Notes section.
  3. Click + Add Note, type your note, and save.

Notes are internal — only visible to your team in SalesKey.


Uploading Attachments

  1. Open the deal.
  2. Go to the Attachments section.
  3. Click Upload and select your file(s).

Attachments can include proposals, contracts, presentations, or any relevant documents.


Viewing the Change Log

Every change made to a deal is automatically recorded:

  1. Open the deal.
  2. Scroll to the Change Log or Activity Log section.

You will see who changed what, and when — useful for audit trails and understanding deal history.


Bulk Actions on Deals

  1. Select multiple deals in Table View using the checkboxes.
  2. Use the Bulk Actions menu to:
    • Change stage for all selected
    • Assign to a team member
    • Add or change labels
    • Archive selected deals
    • Delete selected deals

Archiving vs. Deleting a Deal

Action When to Use
Archive Deal is inactive but you want to keep the record
Delete Deal was created in error or you don't need the record
Mark as Lost Deal was real but you did not win it

Archived and deleted deals can be restored. Lost deals remain in the system for reporting.

Use the Dashboard to see real-time deal metrics and pipeline summaries. See Dashboard Overview for details.
